bp holds LNG regasification capacity across a portfolio of European LNG terminals through a combination of long-term contracts and short-term opportunistic access, converting global LNG supply into realised value in European gas markets.

The LNG Regas Operator is a key value-delivery role within the LNG and gas trading business. The role ensures regasification capacity is delivered safely, reliably, and in a way that maximises commercial value.

• Oversees all aspects of regas operations, including cargo operations, inventory management, send-out planning, and support for new regas capacity auctions.
• Works closely with the front office and builds effective relationships with terminal operators and counterparties to support commercial outcomes.
• Brings a strong commercial mentality to a fast-moving environment, underpinned by robust safety principles and close attention to detail.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

• Lead regas operational delivery, handling optionality, operational risk and cost exposure in line with terminal agreements.
• Lead regas slot usage, inventory positions, and gas send out to optimise value in line with trading strategy, market conditions, system constraints and contractual rights.
• Partner closely with European Gas Operations to handle gas flows, entry capacity, nominations and balancing requirements, ensuring physical delivery aligns with trading intent and market positions.
• Coordinate participation in regas capacity auctions, providing operational and commercial input to decision-making and acting as bp’s primary bidder.

• Oversee regas costs from bid valuation through to invoice reconciliation.

• Negotiate and coordinate Annual Delivery Programmes for long-term regas capacity agreements.
• Build strong and effective working relationships with internal teams, terminal operators and external counterparties.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across regas and LNG operations.

Essential experience

• Demonstrated experience in LNG operations and working knowledge of  European gas markets.
• Deep understanding of LNG regasification processes and downstream gas flows, including nominations, grid entry and balancing across European networks.
• Strong commercial awareness combined with sound operational judgement, risk discipline and a clear focus on value delivery.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with a proven track record to build strong internal and external relationships.
• Demonstrates bp values, with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, collaboration and a speak‑up culture.
