Contract Type: Temporary Hourly Rate: £17.42 per hour End Date: March 2027 Location: Exeter Police Station Driving Required: Yes Working Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Hybrid
**Please not this role will be subject to Police Vetting, your will need to have been residing within the UK for a minimum of 5 years continually**
Our client, a prominent organisation within the public safety sector, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Local Resilience Forum (LFR) Support Officer to join their team in Exeter. This temporary role offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the management and coordination of local resilience efforts, contributing to the safety and well-being of communities across Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly.
Key Responsibilities:
As the LFR Support Officer, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the LRF Manager by:
Facilitating effective multi-agency cooperation among over 60 organisations, including police and stakeholders, to prepare for and respond to major emergencies. Providing advice and direction during regular meetings with LRF partners on resilience matters and multi-agency collaboration. Supporting the maintenance and management of the LRF Business Plan, focusing on risk mitigation strategies. Delivering the LRF Work Programme, prioritising tasks according to risk and ensuring alignment with the business plan. Acting as a key point of contact for the LRF, liaising with regional and national teams as well as the public. Training individuals and groups in resilience processes, especially around risk management and the use of ResilienceDirect. Managing the LRF training programme and overseeing related purchases. Assisting in the activation of major incidents, serving as the Information Officer within the LRF Multi Agency Information Cell. Managing key technical systems essential for partner collaboration in a resilience environment.Essential Qualifications and Skills:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
A BTEC Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio. Experience with Resilience Direct. Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including government entities. Excellent communication abilities, capable of presenting complex information clearly to large audiences. Flexibility to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. A knack for teaching complicated processes to diverse groups.
