Job Title: Logistics Assistant Location: Hailsham, East Sussex Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday A growing advanced manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Logistics Assistant to support its stores, production and international shipping activities. The Logistics Assistant will ensure materials are received, controlled, picked, kitted and dispatched accurately while maintaining stock accuracy above 98%. This position combines hands-on stores work with ERP transactions, import/export documentation and coordination with couriers, freight forwarders and internal production teams. It would suit someone who is organised, practical and confident working in a busy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities * Receive, check, unload, book in, store, pick, pack and dispatch materials safely and accurately. * Replenish production areas at point of use and pick, kit and transact work orders without disrupting manufacturing flow. * Complete stock movements and inventory transactions using an ERP system, maintaining location accuracy above 98%. * Carry out daily perpetual cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and report shortages or damaged goods. * Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, customs paperwork and other import/export documentation. * Liaise with couriers, freight forwarders, suppliers and internal departments to arrange collections and deliveries. * Maintain FIFO controls, correct labelling, secure storage and accurate filing of packing notes, requisitions and work orders. * Prepare materials for external suppliers, spare-parts orders and internal requirements. * Support safe working, good housekeeping, 5S and continuous improvement across the stores area. Skills and Experience * Previous experience in stores, warehousing, logistics or an import/export support role. * Working knowledge of shipping documents, customs paperwork and freight processes is essential. * Accurate stock-handling and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail. * Confidence using Outlook, Word, Excel and a stock-control or ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is advantageous. * Ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and transport partners. * A positive, reliable approach with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. * Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential. * GCSE-level English and Maths, or equivalent, are preferred.
