Logistics Controller

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Controller to join their dynamic transport team. This pivotal role involves managing truck transportation for containers across the UK, ensuring all deliveries and pickups meet both company and customer standards. In this role, you will:

  • Control, plan, and monitor the daily electronic traffic sheet to optimise fleet operations.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers while ensuring cost-effective vehicle deployment.
  • Communicate any deviations in planned collections and deliveries promptly, ensuring seamless coordination with the Customer Service Unit (CSU).
  • Strive to achieve and exceed average weekly target revenue levels over a rolling 2-month period.

As an Logistics Controller, you will not only manage day-to-day operations but also contribute to the long-term improvement of services:

  • Follow up on the root causes of service issues to foster continuous improvement.
  • Maintain rigorous daily process controls to ensure compliance with ISO/QA standards.
  • Generate insightful management reports that reflect the service and cost performance of charter vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and cost management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
