Logistics Controller

Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Are you highly organised and thrive in a busy environment? We're looking for a Logistics Controller to join a growing operations team and keep stock, deliveries, and supply chains running smoothly.

This role is perfect for someone who loves working behind the scenes to ensure that materials, parts, and resources get where they need to be. You'll manage logistics tasks from coordinating couriers to handling stock control and supporting teams across the business.

• Coordinating deliveries and collections for engineers, sites, and stores

• Managing stock levels and replenishment for field teams and warehouses

• Logging goods received and updating systems to reflect job progress

• Overseeing returns processes for surplus project materials and unused stock

• Ordering consumables, uniforms, and other operational items

• Raising purchase orders for materials collected by staff

• Negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive prices

• Monitoring courier and freight costs to identify savings

• Managing surplus stock for future use

• Arranging safety equipment checks and liaising with test companies

• Supporting compliance activities and looking for ways to improve processes

• Carrying out regular stock takes and reporting findings

• Coordinating waste disposal and recycling for both general and confidential materials

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• A proactive, problem-solving approach

• Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing

• Comfortable using software systems and Microsoft Office

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Experience in logistics, stock control, or operations is beneficial, ideally with customer service exposure
