Overall Responsibilities of the Position

Co-ordinate day to day freight, shipping and transport operations.
Collate and maintain production, inspection and test information.
Co-ordinate test rings and accurately record and input results.
Prepare, check and control all shipping and export documentation.
Ensure compliance with relevant export control and customs requirements.
Support weekend working at month end and undertake overtime requirement to support operational requirements.
Preparation of Metallographic samples following successful completion of training. 
Key Area Responsibilities

Liaise with shipping and transport providers to co-ordinate the movement of products by road, rail, sea and air.
Organise miscellaneous transport services to support operational and business requirements.
Work closely with shipping companies to maximise the efficient use of container and vehicle capacity whilst managing transportation costs effectively.
Prepare and maintain all required certification, shipping, and export documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintain accurate finished product records using Infoflo and other relevant business systems.
Ensure records and information are accurate, up to date, secure and readily retrievable.
Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvements.
Liaise effectively with sub-contractors and intra-company process personnel to co-ordinate activities and resolve operational requirements.
Participate in customer inspection and documentation reviews
Assist with monitoring expenditure against shipping budget and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
Represent the shipping team at production, planning and other meetings providing updates as required. 
Knowledge and Experience

Good understanding of the overall product process is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Strong IT skills to include Microsoft Office
Previous experience of ERP systems
Ability to understand and work to budgetary constraints
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence to liaise effectively with external agencies, freight providers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
Experience of quality auditing is desirable
Previous export compliance experience desirable
Ability to use initiatives and respond effectively to changes, issues or deviations from planned activities.
Strong organisation and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
Comfortable communicating and working effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.Working Hours:
Monday – Thursday 8am – 4:15pm
Friday 8am – 3:15pm
