Job Description - Logistics Manager

We are seeking a driven, resilient, and highly motivated Logistics Manager to lead and optimise our logistics and warehouse operations at Berwick Care. This is not a role for someone who wants to simply “do their job” — this is an opportunity for someone who takes real ownership, thrives on responsibility, and is motivated to go above and beyond to deliver results.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective running of all logistics functions.

You will oversee the daily coordination of drivers, routing, deliveries, warehouse processes, and service levels, ensuring that customers receive the highest standard of delivery performance. You will also be responsible for developing and leading your team to the next level — setting standards, holding accountability, and actively upskilling staff.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role. You won’t be afraid to get stuck in, support goods-in when needed, and lead from the front. We’re looking for someone who brings energy, structure, and a strong work ethic, with the mindset to drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Working closely with internal teams, you will play a vital role in improving operational performance, strengthening communication, and delivering long-term business improvements.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone with the right mindset as much as experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ownership & Accountability – Takes responsibility and follows through
  • Drive & Work Ethic – Willing to go above and beyond when needed
  • Strong Leadership – Able to manage, motivate, and develop teams to a high standard
  • Hands-On Approach – Not afraid to get involved in day-to-day operations when required
  • Resilience – Able to manage pressure and respond to challenges
  • Proactive Mindset – Constantly looking for improvements and efficiencies
  • Adaptability – Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Passion & Energy – Brings a positive attitude and commitment to delivering results

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in a Warehouse or Logistics Management role with a strong record of improving performance and efficiency
  • Experience managing, motivating, and developing warehouse and driving teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to hold people accountable respectfully
  • Strategic thinker with practical, hands-on management abilities
  • Solid understanding of ERP, WMS, and transport routing software
  • Experience implementing Lean / 5S principles and process improvements
  • Analytical and organised with excellent problem-solving and planning abilities
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with warehouse machinery (e.g. forklifts, pallet wrappers, pallet trucks)
  • Route planning experience is desirable

Personal Attributes:

  • “Can-do” attitude with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Confident decision-maker who takes ownership and leads by example.

What We Offer

  • Generous company-wide bonus scheme
  • Career development opportunities with access to training and external courses
  • Free lunch provided daily
  • On-site gym and free parking
  • Employee assistance helpline (mental health & financial wellbeing support)
  • Unlimited snack cupboard and a fun, friendly working environment (bake-offs, team lunches & more!)

    Salary:
Up to £40,000 per annum (DOE)
    Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday – Friday (1-hour un-paid break)
