We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Thetford. As a Logistics Manager you will oversee transport operations and ensure goods reach the right place at the right time. You will join a small, friendly team and take overall responsibility for the team management and fleet management.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Management & Equipment
- Organise and oversee daily vehicle checks, maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Procure and maintain delivery vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Manage fuel cards, tracking, and AdBlue stock.
- Oversee vehicle cleaning and retire/sell vans as needed.
Delivery and Transport Processes
- Analyse delivery costs and review methods for efficiency.
- Collaborate with departments to integrate logistics with company operations.
People Management & Supervision
- Oversee and manage delivery and logistics teams.
- Conduct regular performance assessments and on-the-job training.
- Handle recruitment, coaching, and motivation of staff.
Project Management for Large Deliveries
- Lead delivery team briefings and attend site fit-outs.
- Manage communication with sub-contractors and customers during projects.
Health & Safety
- Ensure driver training and compliance with risk assessments and policies.
- Maintain adherence to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
Logistics Strategy
- Evaluate and update performance metrics.
- Improve business performance considering legislation, costs, and environmental pressures.
- Optimise van routing and manage delivery costs versus sales revenue.
- Prepare and manage annual logistics budgets.
Experience:
- Previous similar role with proven skills in logistics management.

Salary- £45,000- £55,000
Bonus
Hours- Monday- Friday- 08.00am- 16.30pm
