A leading international data centre construction contractor is seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to join a major mission-critical project in Blyth.
This is a site-based role responsible for coordinating site logistics, managing storage and delivery schedules, and ensuring materials, subcontractors and operatives are organised efficiently and safely.
You’ll work closely with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors to keep deliveries moving, prevent congestion and support the smooth delivery of a large-scale construction project.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage site compounds and designated storage areas.
* Book, schedule and coordinate material deliveries.
* Coordinate deliveries between off-site storage facilities and the construction site.
* Ensure subcontractors understand delivery routes, storage locations and site procedures.
* Maintain an organised delivery schedule and efficient site logistics.
* Attend pre-start meetings with subcontractors to discuss logistics, access and storage requirements.
* Use delivery management systems to coordinate and track bookings.
* Promote a just-in-time delivery approach to minimise on-site storage requirements.
* Ensure deliveries are complete and arrive as scheduled.
* Prevent congestion and obstruction of site roads and access routes.
* Ensure loading and unloading activities take place in designated areas.
* Supervise logistics operatives and coordinate daily duties.
* Ensure site teams follow health and safety procedures.
* Maintain accurate labour allocation records and daily work reports.
* Work with project teams to resolve logistics issues and maintain site efficiency.
What We're Looking For
* Ideally, at least one year of experience in site logistics or a similar supervisory role.
* Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
* Practical knowledge of deliveries, materials handling and storage management.
* Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site operatives.
* Understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy construction environment.
* A qualification in engineering, construction or a related discipline is desirable.
* Candidates with a strong trades background and relevant logistics experience are encouraged to apply.
