Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S) is bp’s interface to global traded markets across oil, gas, power, chemicals, renewables, carbon and finance. ST&S enhances bp’s value through distinctive capabilities in supply, commodity trading, risk management and technology, supported by market-leading analytics, finance, control and compliance.

GLIGHTS is ST&S’s global light ends trading business and one of its most dynamic and fast-growing teams. Operating a global trading book model, GLIGHTS trades across gasoline, LPG, naphtha and petrochemicals, structured into four core pillars:

• Global Gasoline
• Global Petrochemicals
• Global Paper
• Global GreenLights (bio, low carbon, circular)

With teams based in London, Singapore, Chicago, Houston and São Paulo, GLIGHTS is driving an ambitious global growth agenda.

Role Overview

The LPG Originator is responsible for developing and executing a portfolio of originated opportunities across the LPG value chain, including supply, offtake, storage and logistics.

Sitting within the GLIGHTS trading bench, the role plays a critical part in expanding bp’s global LPG footprint and integrating flows into the trading book to maximise value, optionality and portfolio optimisation.

Key Accountabilities

• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of LPG origination opportunities across supply, offtake, storage and logistics
• Identify and develop strategic positions aligned with bp’s global LPG balance (length and shorts)
• Develop and manage senior counterparty relationships to unlock proprietary deal flow
• Integrate originated flows into the trading book to maximise value and optionality
• Structure, negotiate and execute complex commercial agreements across geographies
• Lead end-to-end deal execution, from origination through to implementation
• Partner cross-functionally with trading, analytics, operations, legal and risk teams
• Drive growth of the LPG origination footprint in line with GLIGHTS strategic priorities

Skills & Experience

Technical & Commercial Expertise

• Previous experience in LPG/NGL trading, origination or related commercial roles
• Strong understanding of global LPG markets, trade flows and pricing benchmarks (e.g. Mont Belvieu, FEI, CP)
• Solid grasp of physical trading economics, including arbitrage, freight, storage and optionality
• Demonstrated track record of originating value through structured transactions and counterparty networks
• Advanced commercial, structuring and contract negotiation capability
• Experience working across international markets and cross-border supply chains
