Machine Operative

Are you mechanically minded and looking for a long-term role with full training in a niche manufacturing sector? A Redditch-based manufacturer is seeking a committed Rolling Mill Setter / Operator to join their production team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a desire to build a career in the metal processing industry.

• Set and operate rolling mills and slitting (shearing) machines
• Load furnaces and support general factory operations
• Be part of a hands-on, busy production environment
• Receive full training over a 6-12 month period

Essential Criteria:

• GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C / Level 4 or above in Maths and English
• Strong mechanical aptitude (assessed during interview)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Willingness to work overtime at short notice (evenings or Saturday mornings)
• Desire for a long-term position

Desirable Experience:

• Background in metal or strip/coil processing
• Previous experience with rolling mills or slitting machines
• Apprentice-trained
• Forklift truck certified
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
