Job Description - Mail Sorter

We have an opportunity for a Mail Sorter to join our team based at Speke



This is a part time position -  18.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 14.45 – 18.30.


 


You will be responsible for ensuring all mail is sorted from mail bags into a manual sorting system ready for transfer to it’s destination on the following day

Duties:


 




  • Responsible for opening all incoming mail bags upon arrival in warehouse sorting area




  • Ensure that all post is sorted to the correct destination and that any anomalies are reported to your line manager




  • Ensure that all current days mail is sorted by the end of each working day




  • Ensure total compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety legislation. This includes the safe systems of work, such as manual handling and also includes total compliance with the company’s no smoking policy other than in the external designated area




  • To attend regular meetings and training sessions which include job specific manual handling training and health and safety mandatory updates




  • You may be responsible for the security of the building upon leaving the premises after your duty
