This is a hands-on role supporting the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of production equipment within a busy manufacturing environment. The role is predominantly mechanically focused, with around 70% of the workload involving mechanical maintenance and fault finding. We're looking for someone who enjoys diagnosing breakdowns, solving problems and keeping production running efficiently. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults. Support the reliability and performance of production machinery. Work on conveyors, bearings, motors, gearboxes, chains, pulleys, belts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Complete maintenance activities safely and in line with company procedures. Support installation, commissioning and improvement projects. Record maintenance activities using maintenance management systems. Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency. Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities. What We're Looking For Essential Previous experience as a: Maintenance Engineer Multi-Skilled Engineer Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Shift Engineer Maintenance Technician Engineering Technician Manufacturing or production maintenance experience. Strong mechanical fault-finding skills. Experience carrying out both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance. Experience with conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, motors, chains, belts and associated production equipment. Good problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to maintenance. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Desirable Electrical fault-finding experience. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems experience. PLC diagnostics and basic fault finding. Experience within: Manufacturing Production Packaging Plastics Food Manufacturing FMCG Recycling Welding and fabrication experience. Installation and commissioning experience. Qualifications Essential Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification. Previous maintenance engineering experience. Desirable Mechanical Engineering qualification. Electrical Engineering qualification. 18th Edition. Multi-skilled engineering training. PLC training.
