Our client is seeking a Maintenance Controller to join their established Maintenance team on a full-time basis. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for coordinating and controlling maintenance planning activities, ensuring preventative and reactive maintenance is effectively planned, scheduled and completed across the site.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience in maintenance planning, maintenance coordination or engineering administration.
As the Maintenance Controller your duties will include:
* Managing short-term maintenance planning activities across a 0–4 week period
* Developing, maintaining and communicating weekly maintenance schedules
* Coordinating preventative/reactive maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
* Reviewing and rescheduling missed maintenance tasks to ensure completion
* Monitoring maintenance backlogs and prioritising work according to business requirements and equipment criticality
* Ensuring the required labour, parts, tools and contractor resources are available for planned maintenance activities
* Tracking planned maintenance activities and providing updates on schedule adherence and completion
* Liaising with Operations, Maintenance and external contractors to coordinate planned work
* Raising Purchase Orders resulting from equipment failures, maintenance requirements and project activities
* Processing Goods Receipt Notes and contractor invoices through SAP
* Carrying out weekly documentation checks to ensure maintenance records are accurate, complete and compliant
* Supporting internal and external audits relating to maintenance systems and documentation
* Identifying opportunities to improve maintenance planning, scheduling and asset reliability.
An ideal candidate for the Maintenance Controller will have:
* Previous experience within a maintenance planning, maintenance coordination or engineering administration role
* Working knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance processes
* Previous experience using SAP PM, Plant Maintenance or a similar CMMS system
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* An understanding of GMP requirements and controlled documentation practices
* NVQ Level 2 Administration or higher, BTEC Business Studies or a similar qualification
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
