Maintenance Engineer

Annual Salary: £37,000 - £41,000 + OT available
Location: Benfleet, Essex
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (39 hours per week)

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s team in Benfleet, Essex. This role involves providing effective maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant, building, and equipment. You will be a crucial part of both the in-house engineering team and the wider plant team, reporting to the senior engineer.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Attend to all mechanical, electrical, plant, equipment, and building issues.
• Conduct safety tests as required.
• Manage the start-up and shutdown of processing plant, equipment, and facilities.
• Implement a programme of planned preventative maintenance to ensure optimum use and minimal downtime.
• Support building maintenance and other ad hoc tasks.
• Provide building alarm callout cover out of hours (with additional pay bonus, average 3 per year).

Work pattern includes Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:30 and 07:00 to 14:00 on Fridays, plus one Saturday morning per month for PPM tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical engineering with a stronger bias towards electrical engineering.
• Completed an engineering apprenticeship or similar Level 3 qualifications.
• Minimum of 2 years practical maintenance experience.

All tools and uniform provided, fully operational workshop and weld room.
