Maintenance Engineer

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with an independent, highly successful manufacturing business, in Hereford. We are currently supporting their recruitment for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, maintain and repair the plant and equipment on site through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance.

This position requires an individual that can carry out both mechanical and electrical installations and inspections.

This position is working Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:00pm offering a salary of £38,650.

Maintenance Engineer main duties:

• Conducting routine inspections of equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and correcting them.
• Ensure quick reaction to any breakdowns that occur.
• Maintain key spares for equipment and spare items of equipment.
• Maintain good level of housekeeping in maintenance room.
• Ensure all process equipment is maintained in a safe state.

Maintenance Engineer required skills and experience:

• Previous experience in a maintenance engineer/technician role within an engineering environment
• Excellent knowledge of process equipment
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Have a proactive approach to site maintenance.
• Be resourceful and self-motivated
• Understanding of Plastic or PVC processes is advantageous.
• Formal maintenance/engineering qualification desirable.
• Electrical Qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).
