Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Food Production

?? Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Overtime + Shift Premium

?? Hours: Monday–Friday, 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm (rotating)

Join a fast-paced food production site based in Newhaven, supplying baked and chilled goods to major supermarkets. With strong order books and a recent line investment, they’re now looking to add a skilled Maintenance Engineer to the technical team.

Your Role

• Conduct reactive and planned maintenance on production equipment including conveyors, motors, ovens, mixers, and chillers
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to avoid lost time
• Assist with regular hygiene-related shutdowns and line changeovers
• Work collaboratively with operations and hygiene teams to ensure uptime
• Accurately log maintenance work and support fault prevention

What You’ll Need

• Mechanical or multiskilled engineer with FMCG, food, or chilled production experience
• Comfortable with hands-on fault finding in time-critical environments
• Ideally Level 3 NVQ or equivalent + experience with HACCP/safe systems
• Ability to work a rotating double-day shift with flexibility for occasional weekend callouts
