Maintenance Engineer

The role of a Maintenance Engineer within the industry includes providing support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including day to day breakdown, PPM, equipment updates, new installations, and building/infrastructure upgrades.

Description

• Oversee and maintain engineering systems and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise production processes.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all engineering activities, and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• To report any incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Health and Safety Policies.
• Provide technical expertise and advice to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Identify and propose cost-effective engineering solutions.
• To work closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, and sharing all other information and practices as required.
• To provide knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities. Work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long running problems and suitable solutions.

14:00-22:30 Mon-Fri, 06:00-12:00 every 3rd Saturday

Profile

• Understanding of health and safety regulations in engineering environments.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and technical systems management..
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Electrical Installation 18th Edition, Electrical Installation Maintenance., Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance.
• Electronic fault finding to component level.
• Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
• Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred, preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.
