Job Description - Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer
Electrical Bias

Location: Leamington Spa
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – 2 Days (07:00 – 19:00), 2 Nights (19:00 – 07:00), followed by 4 days off
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £47,092 per annum

Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Maintenance Engineers with electrical bias to join a global, well established, and fully automated 24/7 kerbside plastic waste recycling plant. This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) seeking a permanent role with long term career prospects in a fast paced, high output production environment. Empowered Personnel is looking for a hands on, proactive Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) who thrive in a high volume setting and enjoy solving problems, identifying faults, and driving operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased):

• Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns across the site.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.
• Accurately document work and maintain service records.
• Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity.
• Promote equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
• Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in maintenance areas.

Requirements - Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased):

• Recognised engineering qualification, ideally with electrical bias.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (electrical biased) in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Competent in diagnosing and repairing faults in electrically biased systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Methodical, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Able to remain calm and focused under pressure.

Working Environment:

This role is based in a 24/7 kerbside plastic waste recycling facility, operating extruders, shredders, trommels, a wastewater treatment plant, and hot/cold wash systems. The environment can be hot, dusty, and physically demanding, so good awareness of health & safety practices is essential.
