Maintenance Engineer

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

£43,000 - £45,000 DOE

Shift pattern; afters and nights or nights only

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Due to a new business acquisition, our clients need to strengthen their engineering team, they specialised in the medical and pharmaceutical industry and are looking for 2 additional Maintenance Engineer to work afters and nights or nights only. As the Maintenance Engineer you will be providing effective planned and reactive maintenance across the manufacturing facility, ensuring injection, blow and extrusion moulding machines, automation and associated equipment operate safely, reliably and efficiently. The role will support production by minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities for Maintenance Engineer

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

* Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

* Maintain injection, blow moulding, extrusion machines, robots, automation and ancillary equipment.

* Fault-find electrical control systems and PLC-controlled equipment.

* Identify recurring equipment issues and implement permanent corrective actions.

* Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.

* Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown records.

* Ensure critical spare parts are identified and appropriately controlled.

* Work closely with production and setting teams to improve machine availability and performance.

* Support continuous-improvement activities, including 5S, Lean and TPM.

* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site health & safety requirements.

* Maintain a clean, organised and professional maintenance/workshop environment.

Skills & Experience for Maintenance Engineer

* Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

* Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.

* Electrical fault-finding capability.

* Understanding of PLC-controlled machinery.

* Ability to read engineering and electrical drawings.

* Able to work independently and prioritise breakdown situations effectively.
