Maintenance Engineer

Due to continued growth, Our client is currently recruiting for a maintenance engineer to join their growing workforce.

Our Client are a steel manufacturing company looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to keep our production equipment running safely and reliably. You’ll be based in Cannock and travel between our sites when needed.

The ideal candidate will carry out planned maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, respond to breakdowns and support the installation of new equipment. Working closely with production teams, you’ll help reduce downtime and improve machinery performance while keeping accurate maintenance records.

What you’ll need:

* Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; steel industry experience is an advantage

* A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems

* The ability to read technical drawings and manuals and use diagnostic tools

* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage your own workload

* A reliable, practical approach and good communication skills

* A full UK driving licence. This is a requirement of the role because you’ll need to drive between sites.

This is a physical role in an active production environment, involving standing, lifting, climbing and manual handling.

What we offer

£36,000–£43,000, depending on experience

Monday to Friday working hours

20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays

Additional time off during the Christmas shutdown

Use of a company electric van for work-related travel between sites
