The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and fault-finding across a diverse range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated production equipment. Working with a variety of machinery and control systems, you will help maximise plant reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support the delivery of high-quality products. About the Role · 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday · Rotating shift pattern: Week 1 - 6:00 am–2:30 pm | Week 2 - 2:00 pm–10:30 pm · One weekend every four weeks (Saturday or Sunday) · 31 days annual leave, including bank holidays Key Responsibilities · Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and implement effective solutions. · Performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment. · Respond promptly to breakdowns and carry out fault finding and repairs. · Monitoring and optimising production processes to maximise efficiency. · Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. · Supporting the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. · Carrying out other ad hoc engineering and maintenance duties as required. Essential Requirements · Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering). · Experience with PLC systems and automation. · Strong knowledge of maintenance and fault-finding for mechanical, electrical, and control systems. · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and manuals. · Proactive and solution-focused approach. · Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. · High attention to detail. · Flexibility to work rotating shifts and participate in the weekend rota. · Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly. · Knowledge of health and safety practices. Desirable Requirements · BS7671 Latest edition of wiring regulations. · Experience within a manufacturing or food production environment. · Experience with automated or packaging machinery. · Experience with PLC systems and automation.
