ST TALENT are recruiting on behalf of an established and technically advanced manufacturing business for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

This is a key role within the business, responsible for keeping a highly automated manufacturing environment operating safely, efficiently and at optimum performance. With a strong focus on preventative maintenance and continuous improvement, you’ll play an important part in reducing downtime, extending asset life and ensuring production can continue to deliver on time.

The Role

Working within a busy automated manufacturing environment, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, fault-finding and ongoing improvement of a range of machinery and automated systems.

The role would suit an experienced maintenance engineer with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, together with hands-on experience working with industrial robot arms, particularly ABB or KUKA.

You’ll also have the opportunity to use your technical knowledge to identify improvements, introduce new technology and help develop the reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across automated manufacturing equipment.

* Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and control-related faults.

* Maintain and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems.

* Work with ABB and/or KUKA robot arms.

* Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

* Support fabrication and engineering modifications where required.

* Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams.

* Maintain high standards of safety, quality and attention to detail.

* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the site's maintenance processes and technology.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

* 5+ years' experience working within an automated manufacturing environment.

* 3+ years' experience working with industrial robot arms, ideally ABB and/or KUKA.

* Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.

* A good understanding of mechatronics.

* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

* Fabrication experience.

* Experience with CAD packages such as SolidWorks, Inventor or AutoCAD.

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

* A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
