The Flavour Network are excited to be recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of an established food manufacturing business based in Yorkshire.
Our client is looking for a hands-on Mainrenance Engineer to join their Engineering team and help keep production running safely, efficiently and reliably. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be working closely with the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for maintaining plant, machinery and equipment and responding to breakdowns across a busy food manufacturing environment.
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, reliable and confident, with the ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
Key responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer include:
* Responding quickly to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding and repairs.
* Completing planned preventative maintenance and daily pre-start checks.
* Monitoring machinery performance and identifying potential faults before they cause downtime.
* Carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding and remedial work.
* Completing maintenance records and associated paperwork.
* Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and equipment is handed back to Production in a safe condition.
* Completing risk assessments and following Health & Safety and Food Hygiene procedures.
* Working closely with Production, Technical, Hygiene and Management teams.
* Supporting contractors on site and ensuring Permit to Work procedures are followed where required.
About You
You will ideally be apprentice-trained or time-served with a strong Electrical/Multi-Skilled bias and experience within FMCG or food manufacturing.
Essential/desired experience for the Maintenance Engineer includes:
* Strong electrical fault-finding and ability to read electrical drawings.
* Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
* Inverter/VSD knowledge.
* Experience with food manufacturing or FMCG machinery.
* A systematic approach to fault finding and problem solving.
* TIG welding experience.
* Computer literate.
* Own basic tools; toolbox provided
* Experience with thermoforming packaging machinery, mincers/grinders, SmartDate, Herma or high-speed labelling equipment would be advantageous.
