Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Monday to Friday 7am-7pm & Weekend Available)

Salary: £40p/h Call-Out | 50/50 Split on Quotes Won (Labour only)

Main purpose of role:

Here at Optimal Maintenance, our field-based team serves as the backbone of our operations, ensuring seamless execution of every maintenance task and project. They are the resilient problem-solvers who drive Optimal Maintenance's success through their dedication and expertise in property repairs, maintenance tasks, and client satisfaction.

As the Maintenance Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring every detail is covered, tasks are completed promptly, and our high standards are upheld. Based in London, you'll be able to tap into our impressive benefits package, with a 50% split on labour jobs and £40 per hour rate for call-out jobs. With these perks, your earning potential is sky-high. Plus, you'll take charge of accurately quoting jobs to stay competitive, securing those winning bids and boosting your income. On top of that, you’ll have the option of a company van and enjoy the peace of mind with comprehensive Van Insurance and Public Liability Insurance coverage. We've got you covered for congestion charges and ensure invoices are paid every two weeks, so you can focus on what you do best—earning and delivering top- service.

    • The day-to-day role may include the Maintenance Engineer responsibilities:
    • Conducting thorough property inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential issues, ensuring accurate assessment for optimal quoting.
    • Performing scheduled repairs and maintenance tasks promptly and efficiently to maximise earning potential through increased job completion rates.
    • Responding promptly to emergency callouts and addressing urgent maintenance issues, offering opportunities for additional earnings through callout charges and hourly rates.
    • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance-related problems with precision to provide accurate quotes and minimize material costs.
    • Utilising specialised tools and equipment to carry out repairs and installations effectively, enhancing efficiency and profitability on each job.
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities, safeguarding against potential liabilities and preserving earnings.
    • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, including job details, materials used, and hours worked, facilitating efficient billing processes, and maximising earnings transparency.
    • Communicating effectively with clients, providing updates on maintenance progress, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have, fostering trust and facilitating successful quoting processes.

Skills / Experience / Competence:

Required

  • With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction trade.
  • Proficient in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and joinery skills.
  • Holder of a DBS Certificate/check
  • Demonstrating skills in diagnosing and conducting on-site repairs, sourcing materials, and maintaining high standards of work.
  • Reliable and dedicated to delivering work of the highest standard consistently
  • Ability to confidently quote and win work
  • Proficient in using smartphone

  • Equipped with a basic toolkit and Van.
