Maintenance Fitter, Workington, Cumbria
Salary: £21,935 pa + 12% uplift once competency demonstrated
MacArthur Recruitment is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to work within the maintenance team, for a UK organisation in Cumbria, who are involved with hands-on engineering-focussed industries across nuclear, construction and defence. The role entails a lot of stripping out machinery such as gear boxes on heavy plant.
Experience or background for the role of Maintenance Fitter:
- Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Service Engineer
- Level 3 (mandatory) C&G / NVQ, ONC â Maintenance / Mechanical Fitting or similar. Level 3 or time served apprentice or above
You will need to be able to / have knowledge of for the role of Maintenance Fitter :
- Stripping down and rebuild of large complex machinery
- Plant fitting
- Experience of bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves and couplings
- Mechanical setups on machines.
- Permits to work
- Risk Assessments
- Workpack/permit environment experience
- Understanding of H&S issues
- Method Statements
- Shift and breakdown reports
