Maintenance Fitter

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our client's team in Scarborough. You will play a key role in keeping production machinery operating safely and efficiently, carrying out preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs, as well as supporting machinery installations and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery

* Diagnosing mechanical faults and breakdowns and carrying out effective repairs

* Identifying root causes of equipment failures and helping to prevent repeat breakdowns

* Inspecting and maintaining machine safety guarding

* Working closely with Production Supervisors to minimise downtime and coordinate maintenance activities

* Supporting the installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery

* Carrying out bench fitting, fabrication and general mechanical engineering work

* Using MIG welding for maintenance and fabrication requirements

* Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems

* Supporting continuous improvement and machinery upgrade projects

Essential skills and experience:

* Previous experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer or similar

* Strong mechanical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment

* Good fabrication and MIG welding skills

* Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
