Maintenance Manager – Mechanical Bias

• Annual Salary: £52,000 – £60,000 + Bonus + Overtime

Join a leading manufacturer on the South Coast as a Maintenance Manager, where you will lead the engineering team and drive reliability across a busy production facility. This key role offers full autonomy to implement improvements, mentor the team, and shape the site’s maintenance culture.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead a small team of maintenance engineers (mechanical and multiskilled).
• Ensure the delivery of PPM schedules and quick turnaround on reactive breakdowns.
• Conduct hands-on fault finding and repairs on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and reduce downtime through effective root cause analysis.
• Manage parts ordering, contractor liaison, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Deliver toolbox talks, provide training, and offer mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Time-served Multiskilled Engineer with strong industrial experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing, food, or packaging environment.
• Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical systems; some electrical knowledge is preferred.
• Organised, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining efficient machine operations.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
