Company Overview

A high-specification manufacturer supplying components to the medical and optical industries is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead their small in-house team. Based at a clean, modern facility in Burgess Hill, this role is ideal for a practical leader who wants to combine technical ability with team development and CI focus.

Role Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–4 maintenance technicians across day-to-day engineering needs
• Coordinate planned maintenance schedules, machinery reliability, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment including CNCs, presses, and lab support machines
• Liaise with production, purchasing, and external contractors to minimise downtime
• Drive 5S and reliability programs across the site

About You

• Experienced Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical or multiskilled background
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a production setting
• Familiarity with precision engineering, cleanroom environments, or small-batch production advantageous
• Strong organisational and people skills
