Maintenance Operative – Temporary Contract 
Location: Cranfield University
Pay: £15.97 per hour
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary

Siamo Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities Maintenance team at Cranfield University.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail and is confident working across a busy university environment.

Responsibilities
Collect and deliver furniture, equipment, machinery, goods, hazardous chemicals and gases to departments across the University.
Set up rooms with furniture, fixtures and fittings as required.
Erect and dismantle equipment for graduations, events and other University activities.
Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including clearing, cleaning and jet washing areas.
Undertake window cleaning and painting works associated with ongoing building maintenance.
Provide support to the Facilities Maintenance team and University contractors.
Assist with statutory compliance testing where required.
Unblock sinks and toilets as instructed by the Plumbing Team Leader.
Replace toilet seats and carry out other general maintenance duties.
Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Use computer-based systems for timesheets and work tickets following appropriate training.
Undertake other duties within the general remit of the role as directed by the Director of Facilities.We are looking for someone who:

Has practical maintenance or facilities experience.
Is confident carrying out a variety of hands-on tasks.
Can work independently while also supporting a wider team.
