Maintenance Operative

Do you have experience carrying out property maintenance and remedial works and take pride in delivering a high-quality finish?

Are you a practical, customer-focused tradesperson with experience in painting and joinery looking for a varied role working across new homes?

We’re recruiting a Maintenance Operative to carry out remedial and maintenance works across residential properties in the Durham area.

You’ll be responsible for completing a variety of high-quality remedial works, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, safely and in line with agreed service levels. You’ll also liaise with customers and subcontractors where required, helping to ensure defects are resolved professionally and customers receive a high standard of service.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Manage and prioritise your workload to complete remedial works within agreed SLA timescales

* Carry out high-quality maintenance and remedial works across residential properties

* Undertake works across a range of homeowner maintenance requirements, with particular emphasis on painting and joinery

* Ensure work is completed in line with relevant customer care policies, procedures and quality standards

* Identify opportunities to minimise costs and ensure materials and works are recorded accurately

* Complete required reporting through online systems to maintain accurate records of defect resolution

* Liaise with customers to provide a professional and courteous service when completing works in their homes

* Liaise with and monitor subcontractors where required to support effective defect resolution

What We’re Looking For

* Previous experience in property maintenance, construction or residential remedial works

* Competent across a range of homeowner maintenance tasks

* Proven painting and joinery experience – essential

* Strong practical skills with the ability to maintain and use tools and equipment safely

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload

* Comfortable using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems

* Current CSCS Card – essential

Desirable:

* PASMA certification

* First Aid qualification

* Previous experience working within a housebuilding or Customer Care environment
