Maintenance Supervisor – Site Services
Thetford, Norfolk Full time, Flexible shift pattern (double days or days only)
We’re working with an established manufacturer in Thetford, who are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead their Site Services team. This is a great step for a maintenance team leader or senior engineer ready to take on supervisory responsibility, or an existing engineering supervisor looking for a role with real ownership of asset integrity.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll take charge of the infrastructure that keeps the site running safely, including tanks, vessels, pipework, valves, pumps, and transfer systems. You’ll lead a team of multiskilled engineers, make sure inspections and planned maintenance happen on time, and keep a clear, accurate record of every asset’s condition and history.
What the job involves
Leading and supporting the Site Services team, planning and allocating daily maintenance and inspection work Taking ownership of the condition and reliability of tanks, vessels, pipework, valves, pumps, bunds and wider site infrastructure Making sure planned inspections and preventative maintenance tasks are completed on schedule, and that defects are picked up and put right Providing hands-on technical support during breakdowns, leaks and other site issues Arranging and overseeing specialist contractors for inspections, testing and repairs Managing asset records, inspection schedules and PPMs on the site’s CMMS, keeping reports and certificates up to date to provide a complete asset history Keeping on top of overdue inspections and outstanding actions, and using maintenance data to spot recurring problems and drive improvements Ensuring all work is carried out safely, with permits, isolations, risk assessments and safe systems of work properly followed Supporting COMAH, process safety and environmental compliance, including internal, external and regulatory audits and inspections Escalating any significant defects or conditions that could affect safety, the environment or continued safe operation What you’ll bring
Experience in site services, utilities, mechanical maintenance or engineering supervision, ideally with responsibility for leading a team Strong practical knowledge of tanks, pipework, valves, pumps and associated systems A solid background in planned maintenance, inspections and asset integrity Experience using a CMMS A thorough understanding of permit-to-work, isolations and safe systems of work Awareness of COMAH and process safety within a chemical or process manufacturing environment Confident leadership, good organisation and the ability to communicate clearly with your team, contractors and senior colleagues If this sounds like your next opportunity, please apply now or contact Lewis at Select Recruitment for more information Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
