Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities team of a research centre at North Wyke. In this role, you’ll carry out a variety of maintenance and support tasks to help keep our estate safe, functional, and compliant. From basic repairs and inspections to vehicle upkeep and logistical support, your work will be essential to the smooth running of our site.

You’ll work closely with a small, supportive team and report to the Site Operations Manager. While you’ll have guidance, you’ll also be expected to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively.

The role includes

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly planned maintenance tasks (PPMs)

Carry out general maintenance such as painting, decorating, minor repairs, and waste collection

Assist skilled engineers as needed

Operate forklift/telehandler to move goods and unload deliveries

Support vehicle fleet maintenance (e.g., cleaning, fluid checks, tyre inspections)

Conduct basic inspections for fire safety and legionella control

Monitor and record water usage across the estate

Use a tablet to log completed work and maintain accurate records

Respond to helpdesk and on-site queries in a friendly and professional manner
