The Opportunity An established and well-respected organisation operating within a busy industrial and port environment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join its growing engineering team.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of heavy mobile plant and operational machinery, supporting business-critical operations on site. Offers a fantastic work culture and plenty of future opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on heavy mobile plant Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and diesel-related faults Strip down and rebuild machinery components Interpret and work from technical drawings and manuals Maintain accurate records using digital systems and tablets Support operational efficiency by minimising equipment downtime Essential Experience
Proven experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role Strong understanding of: Hydraulics Mechanical systems Diesel engines Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently IT literate and comfortable using digital tools Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience
Fault finding at component level (hydraulics) Knowledge of 3-phase electrics Experience with lathes, milling machines or other workshop equipment Background in heavy industry, recycling or port operations Working Environment

Package & Benefits
Basic salary of approximately £42,000 (based on £18.80 per hour) Overtime available (not guaranteed) 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Pension scheme (auto-enrolment after 3 months) Health cash plan following probation Fully funded travel and accommodation if required for other UK sites Additional Information
