Maintenance Technician (Electrical Bias) – Wrexham - £43,596 plus overtime and excellent benefits
Salary: £43,596 plus overtime plus a quarterly bonus of 12% plus excellent benefits Location: Wrexham Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with alternate Saturdays) the Saturdays will be paid at time and a half.
Are you an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Technician with an Electrical bias looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a multi-skilled maintenance professional to join a busy Energy from Waste Facility facility in Wrexham. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established waste and resource management operation, supporting the efficient and safe running of critical plant equipment.
The Role
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. Working closely with the engineering and operations teams, you will help minimise downtime, improve plant performance, and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on site equipment to include Motors, Gearboxes, Conveyors, PLC’s, Hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Carry out wiring and installations
* Diagnose faults and support breakdown recovery to minimise operational disruption
* Maintain mechanical and electrical plant equipment to a high standard
* Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and plant optimisation projects
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental procedures
* Report and investigate equipment faults, damage and incidents as required
* Support contractor management and ensure safe systems of work are followed
The successful candidate:
* Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician with an Electrical Bias.
* Mechanical and electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, HNC or HND
* Experience working with PLCs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, wiring, installations.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
* Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
* Experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
* A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work in a hands-on industrial environment
