Male Custodian

The BVI Airports Authority Limited invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of MALE CUSTODIAN, MAINTENANCE & ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the Airport’s facilities while maintaining the relevant inventory levels.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

• Ability to clean and maintain cleanliness.


• Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely.


• Good organizational skills.


• Sound customer service skills.


• Professional telephone etiquette.


• Good oral and written communication skill.


• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.


• Ability to take and follow instructions accurately.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect and properly dispose of all trash found in and around the terminal building, including the parking lot area.


• Empty and clean all trash bins at designated locations throughout the airport, and transport waste for disposal in the facility’s trash compactor.


• Clean exposed beams and ceilings inside and outside the terminal building, including large fans and elevated lighting fixtures, using a safety cage on a movable lift.


• Report any fixtures, equipment, or miscellaneous items requiring repair to the Supervisor – Custodian Services.


• Collaborate with team members to complete assigned cleaning tasks efficiently and according to required standards.


• Assist in maintaining cleanliness in all BVIAA offices and any other designated spaces throughout the airport.


• Assist with sweeping and mopping all designated airport areas.


• Assist with cleaning restrooms and replenishing toilet supplies when inventory levels are low.


• Clean all doors, windowpanes, and glass surfaces, ensuring all glass areas remain spotless.


• Perform any other duties assigned by Senior Management.
