Based: Tameside

Salary: up to £45k dependent on experience & study level + study support + benefits

I am exclusively working with a fantastic Construction/Services business based in the Tameside area looking for a Management Accountant in a newly created role. The business is an SME, growing over the next few years organically and through potential acquisition. This role will support the Finance Director involved in all aspects of finance, mentoring a junior staff member and various projects around process improvements & new system implementations

Role:

• Preparing monthly management accounts, including commentary vs budget
• Involved in annual budget & reforecast processes ensuring financial targets are achievable
• Monitoring cash flow forecast & budgets with department heads
• Assisting withy ear end accounts & year end audit alongside Finance Director
• Provide financial insights and forecasts to assist in strategic planning and budgeting processes.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, P&L analysis against KPIs
• Processing weekly bank payments including payroll & suppliers
• VAT reuturns, reviewing P11D submissions and submitting to HMRC including corporation tax
• Supporting with ongoing projects across finance (new system implementation) and wider business
• Utilise accounting software for financial reporting and analysis.
• Ad-hoc reporting to the FD

Experience:

• CIMA / ACCA Accountant - part qualified/finalist essential
• Experience working in an industrial business - energy/construction/manufacturing essential
• Experience working in an SME / owner managed environment desirable
• Experience producing management accounts essential
• Strong IT skills and an improvement mindset, able to use your initiative to facilitate change
