Job Description - Management Accountant

Management Accountant
Location: Clacton-on-Sea
Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a dynamic and fast-paced finance team within a growing UK business. This is a varied and hands-on role covering month-end reporting, treasury, purchasing insights, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
Oversee sales and purchase ledger activity and reconcile key accounts
Support month-end processes: payroll posting, accruals, prepayments, and FX revaluations
Manage the fixed asset register and VAT returns
Maintain cash flow forecasts, process payments, and assist with trade loans
Provide detailed cost analysis and financial support for purchasing and supplier negotiations
Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial modelling
Support internal controls, audits, and systems development

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience across all core accounting functions
AAT qualified / part-qualified or equivalent experience
Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables), with experience in Sage or similar systems
Clear communicator with excellent organisational skills
Commercial mindset with the ability to analyse data and support business decisions
Hands-on, adaptable, and confident working in a fast-moving environment
