Management Accountant

We are seeking an enthusiastic Management Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team in Bristol. The ideal candidate will have a strong background within Management Accounts, but will have also had exposure to the transactional finance function.

Description

• Production monthly management accounts ready for review by Head of Finance
• Calculate, prepare and post nominal ledger postings (accruals & prepayments)
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
• Financial Analysis of data
• Variance Analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budget
• Daily cash flow updates
• Assist Head of Finance in developing year-end budgets and forecasts.
• Management of Credit Control, liaising closely with Head of Finance and ensuring credit checks are done on new partners.
• Ensure all Trade Creditors are paid to terms working with Purchase Ledger Administrator
• Intercompany transactions
• Cover Purchase ledger and other functions during holidays/sickness
• Prepare Monthly Payroll including Pension calculations Monthly VAT, PAYE, and other compliance returns

Profile

A successful Management Accountant should have:

• Be studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Previous experience using financial systems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance staff
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently
