Management Accountant

We're not here to bore you with the usual waffle.

You're an experienced Management accountant who doesn't enjoy corporate nonsense. This Harrogate based business need a Management Accountant who knows how to turn numbers into something useful, not just something that ticks a box for month-end.

You'll be someone who:

• Understands what a business actually does with a set of accounts
• Has a brain wired for detail and commercial thinking
• Isn't allergic to asking awkward questions when the numbers don't stack up

Here's what you'll actually be doing:

• Producing accurate monthly management accounts
• Preparing budgets and forecasts (and helping people stick to them)
• Analysing variances and telling us why we've gone over
• Cash flow analysis - not just a spreadsheet, but a plan
• Supporting internal teams with financial insight
• Improving and streamlining our reporting processes
• Getting involved in year-end prep and liaising with auditors
• Keeping our financial controls in good shape

What you'll need:

• Part or fully qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA - we're flexible)
• Experience in a similar management accounting role
• Solid Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables - not wizardry, just competence)
• Some accounting software experience (Sage, Xero, or similar - we'll train where needed)
• A sense of urgency and a low tolerance for BS
