Management Accountant

CMC Consulting are currently working with an industry giant within the Sports industry.
Our Client are looking to take onboard a well-rounded and experienced Management Accountant within their growing team. The ideal profile will have proven experience managing month-end functions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Post accurate month-end journals in line with accounting standards, ensuring all entries are fully supported with appropriate documentation.
• Lead month-end review sessions with the finance team and Finance Director to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Create and deliver comprehensive monthly reporting packs for each Business Unit.
• Maintain detailed overhead schedules to support cost monitoring and control.
• Conduct data analysis and identify business trends to inform forecasting and strategic planning.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers on R&D initiatives, delivering financial guidance and analysis.
• Ensure consistency between individual Business Unit reports and the overall consolidated financial position.
• Produce clear, actionable financial reports to support senior leadership decision-making.
• Supervise and support the development of the Assistant Management Accountant, providing guidance and oversight.
• Assist in preparing audit deliverables and liaising with external auditors during year-end reviews.

Skills & Experience

• Actively studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualification
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong general IT competency
• Solid understanding and application of financial controls
• Demonstrated experience in preparing and processing month-end journals
• Experience supporting budgeting processes is advantageous
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
