Management Accountant

As part of this development, the company is seeking a confident and commercially focused Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in leading day-to-day financial operations and management reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional looking to take ownership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Role Overview:
The Management Accountant will play a key role in producing timely and accurate financial information, supporting the wider team with insight and analysis, and helping to drive process improvements. The position offers a wide breadth of responsibility and the chance to be involved in both strategic and operational aspects of finance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly management accounts with accompanying commentary
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate ledgers
• Coordinate and process weekly and monthly payroll, including HMRC submissions
• Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Submit monthly VAT returns and oversee compliance
• Post journals, manage accruals and prepayments, and oversee transactional processing
• Lead WIP reviews and perform reconciliations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis

Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience in a management accounting or similar finance role
• Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or qualified by experience
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes
• Confident communicator with strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with evolving priorities
