Management Accountant

Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, our award-winning client is looking for a Management Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The role is fully office-based based so you must be able to travel to Aylesbury 5 days per week. This role is open to ACCA/CIMA Qualified, Part Qualified, or Qualified by experience.

This job would suit someone who is an experienced management accountant with good knowledge of FCA regulations and financial compliance, to be responsible for delivering accurate and timely group financial reporting and reconciliations, while supporting strategic planning and continuous process improvement.

The successful individual will have strong technical accounting skills (journals, reconciliations, VAT, payroll, accruals), with experience in intercompany and group accounting. This person must have advanced Excel and accounting system proficiency, such as Sage 50 or Sage Intact.

Job responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Preparation and posting of month-end journals, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close and reporting with board-level commentary.
• Reconciliations: Expert in intercompany, balance sheet, with strong analytical ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Cash Flow & Forecasting: Skilled in maintaining detailed cash flow forecasts, adjusting for actuals and projections, and advising on cash management.
• Regulatory Compliance: Knowledgeable in FCA compliance and capital adequacy requirements, with experience submitting VAT returns.
• System Implementation & Process Improvement: Contributed to ERP/accounting system migrations and improvements, offering financial insights during planning and implementation phases.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication: Regular liaison with CEOs, Boards, and external parties, providing timely financial data and insights.
• Experience with fixed asset registers, ERP systems, and ensuring alignment between operational and financial systems, such as Sage 50 or Sage Intact.
