The Business Our client is a leading UK food business operating across the entire supply chain — from farm to factory — with a network of processing sites throughout England and Wales. Their Hereford site is one of the group’s most advanced facilities, employing over 1,500 people and benefiting from significant investment in technology and automation to stay at the forefront of industry standards.
The Opportunity We are seeking a Site Management Accountant to join the finance team at the Hereford site. This is a key role supporting financial control, reporting, and commercial decision-making at site level.
Key Responsibilities
Own and lead the site's financial reporting and control processes
Act as a finance business partner to the Site Manager and Senior Leadership Team
Collaborate closely with the Central Finance Team to ensure accurate and timely group reporting
Prepare and review weekly and monthly management reports
Manage the site budgeting and forecasting processes
Provide detailed expenditure analysis and cost performance insights
Maintain the Profit Improvement Plan (PIP) tracker and highlight savings opportunities
Support the site's overall financial governance and compliance with accounting standards
Help build a cost-conscious culture through strong cross-functional engagement
Candidate Profile We are looking for a confident and commercially astute finance professional who can thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Essential requirements:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
Post-qualification experience, ideally in FMCG or manufacturing
Strong understanding of management accounting, cost control, and business partnering
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial colleagues
Hands-on, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
