Job Description - Management Accountant

Are you a qualified Management Accountant looking for your next challenge? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where your financial insights directly influence business performance? Do you have experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and want to join a commercially focused team where you can make an immediate impact?

We're working with a leading organisation in the professional services sector that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the addition of a confident and capable Management Accountant. Based in Birmingham and operating on a hybrid model (3 days in the office, 2 days from home), this role offers the opportunity to work in a complex, multi-entity environment, supporting senior stakeholders with timely and accurate reporting, while driving continuous improvement in systems and processes.

You'll play a key role in consolidating financial information and providing the business with the insight needed to support strategic decision-making.

This role comes with an annual salary of up to £55,000.00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts across multiple entities.
  • Supporting group consolidation and producing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Leading month-end processes including journals, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Partnering with budget holders and department heads to challenge and support financial decision-making.
  • Playing a key role in annual statutory reporting and audit preparation.
  • Ensuring robust internal controls and continuously improving reporting processes.
  • Providing financial insights that support strategic planning and operational execution.

Candidate Qualification, Experience and Skills:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with 3 years' + experience.
  • Proven expertise in management accounting and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills - confident with data modelling, lookups, and preferably macros.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Excellent communication skills - able to influence non-finance stakeholders.
  • A solutions-focused mindset, comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Available to start on short notice (1 month preferable).
