Management Accountant

Management Accountant - St. Austell - Circa: £40,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively assigned by a new client, a very well established and highly reputable retail focussed business with operations spanning the county. Due to continued growth the company have tasked us with sourcing an experienced Management Accountant to join their long standing finance function. The role is offered as a full time, permanent contract and will be based at the company’s administrative headquarters on the outskirts of St. Austell.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and with the support of an experienced transactional accounting team, this will be broad role with a predominant focus on the production of high quality management accounts but also assisting with monthly payroll collation. Key responsibilities to include:

- Preparation and presentation of a range of group and subsidiary management accounts with commentary

- Manage and oversee inter-company postings and balance reconciliations

- Management of the company’s bank reconciliations across all sites

- Reconciliation of stock and balance sheet control accounts

- Maintenance of the fixed asset register

- Supervise all aspects of the company’s group payroll function, responding to staff queries and liaison with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies

- Assist with year-end audit and all aspects of statutory reporting

For this role we seek an experienced Management Accountant or perhaps a motivated Assistant Accountant looking to take a step up. The successful candidate may be part/fully professionally qualified, AAT or qualified through vocational experience. Our client is more focussed on attracting a candidate with the relevant practical experience than qualification, and is happy to assist in training where the payroll administration aspect of the role is concerned. The company is digitally focussed, predominantly working with Sage and MS Excel so good skills in the use of modern accounting systems wil be advantageous. This is a visible role within the business that regularly interacts with colleagues both in and outside of finance so good communication and team working skills are essential.
