Job Description - Management Accountant

Are you looking for a hands-on 12-month opportunity where your contributions will make an immediate impact?

Our client, a respected name in the automotive and motorsport industry, is looking for a capable Management Accountant to join their finance team for a maternity cover contract. Based at their impressive facility near Chipping Warden, this is a full-time, office-based role supporting the business through a busy and exciting period.

The ideal candidate will be a confident, self-motivated individual with exceptional Excel ability, strong attention to detail, and experience producing accurate and insightful financial reports. This is a brilliant opportunity to step into a dynamic, supportive team and take ownership of core accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
  • Perform detailed job costing and margin analysis to support operational teams
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts including accruals and prepayments
  • Manage intercompany charges and reconciliations
  • Create, update, and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets and dashboards
  • Lead on VAT returns and other statutory submissions
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including bank reconciliations and payment processing
  • Support the annual budget and forecasting process
  • Liaise with department heads to provide accurate and timely financial insight
  • Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • AAT qualified (or working towards ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proven experience in a management accounting or similar role
  • Expert-level Excel skills – confident building complex formulas, pivot tables, and dynamic models
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders across departments
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team
What You’ll Receive:
