Management Accountant

The Role
Nigel Wright are supporting a fantastic organisation in County Durham who are looking for a Management Accountant to join them in a permanent role. The opportunity will allow for an experienced Management Accountant to take full responsibility of the production of accounts, management information and analysis and team supervision.

As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the preparation and reporting of both month-end and year-end accounts. You will collaborate closely with the wider finance team to enhance daily operations, strengthen internal controls, and ensure the accuracy and quality of financial information flowing into and out of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver accurate month-end and year-end financial accounts and reporting.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to streamline and improve daily financial processes.
• Maintain and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
• Monitor and manage the quality of financial data inflows and outflows.
• Support the resolution of finance-related queries and issues as they arise.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
• Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures.

About You
Key Requirements:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and process improvement.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
