Job Description - Management Accountant

An opportunity has arisen to join the internal finance team of a professional services company as a Management Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts, supporting financial processes, and contributing to the ongoing development of the finance function. This role offers scope for progression into future leadership positions.

This is a hybrid working opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts, KPIs and budget vs actuals.
Maintaining fixed asset registers and overseeing VAT compliance.
Preparing supplier payment runs and financial reports for senior leadership.
Supervising and supporting finance team members, ensuring accuracy across ledgers and inter-company balances.
Coaching colleagues to improve processes and efficiencies.
Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc reporting.
Contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and finance technology.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
Experience in a Management Accountant role, ideally within a multi-company SME environment.
Strong MS Excel skills; experience with Dext and Xero preferred.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with accuracy.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Supervisory or line management experience desirable.
