Management Accountant

Skin + Me is a category-leading, technology-driven startup dedicated to revolutionising personalised healthcare. 

As we scale our multi-brand ecosystem (+Me Brands), our finance function must evolve to meet increasingly complex international regulatory and compliance requirements. 

We are seeking a high-agency Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a hybrid working role with three days a week in our Paddington HQ (Mon, Tue, Fri) and two days remote. 

About the role:

This isn’t a traditional role; it’s a project centric role designed for a professional who thrives on bringing rigour to complex financial areas. You will be responsible for getting "under the hood" of our international operations, ensuring we are fully compliant across all territories and implementing processes to support our next phase of growth.

Working directly with the Finance Director, you will act as the point person for complex compliance requirements to build robust scalable frameworks. This is a project based role that will evolve as the business scales, to collaborate across the finance function to ensure our systems and reporting are robust and efficient. 

This role is high-impact and project-led. Your objective is to secure international and compliance foundations. You will take ownership of specific workstreams and international requirements, implementing the proper controls and processes needed to support a global scale-up.

What you'll do

• International Support & Scaling: Act as a key finance lead for international requirements, providing the support needed to navigate cross-border operational challenges as we expand.
• VAT & Compliance Ownership: Take full control of all VAT-related compliance. You will identify areas that haven't been properly optimised, resolve outstanding complexities, and ensure regulatory rigour across multiple jurisdictions.
• Process Implementation: You will design, implement and maintain higher-level financial controls and workflows. This involves identifying gaps in current processes and building the structures to close them
• Project Delivery: Lead diverse, high-priority finance projects. You will be expected to dive into new areas of the business, assess compliance needs, and deliver solutions autonomously.
• Strategic Support: Provide the technical expertise and project management required to allow the finance function to scale with the speed of our international growth.

Who you are

• High Agency: You are a self-starter who excels at identifying what needs to be done and doing it. You are comfortable diving into complex compliance issues without a pre-existing playbook.
• Qualifications: You are ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a rigorous technical foundation. You enjoy the challenge of solving complex regulatory puzzles and bringing order to data.
• Autonomous & Project-Driven: You thrive when given a goal and the latitude to determine the optimal path forward. 
• Pragmatic & Technical: You possess an acute attention to detail, while maintaining a strategic view of how finance enables a fast-moving DTC business.
